2ND 2UESDAY OUT AND WE'RE STILL WARMING UP 🧨

yoooooo,
wassup,
welcome,
queslaquehay,
thank you for coming.
(surprise Monday email)
Most of you know I write way too much. I’ll spare you the rambling (for now). Without further ado, let’s start the show 🎬

Thank you, really. It means so much to me that you would choose my words to give your attention to. Especially in today’s world, where we’re consistently bombarded with new content and new information every single second of our lives.
Frankly, it’s overwhelming.
One of the few ways I’ve found to overcome this modern-day obstacle is by committing to a select number of publications that you regularly peruse.
2UESDAY is now for that for you. And this is a very special place for me. Let me tell you why (via meme).

I recently changed my career trajectory. In the hopes of having more time to read, write, and focus on my physical + mental health, I left a sure thing to support a person and an idea I believe in, but with no guarantees. I’m making less and working more than before, and I’m 10x happier.
The future is scary, but at least that future is up to me and no one else.
One of the main reasons I knew I needed to make a change is that I wanted more time to focus on writing this email (for you, but really it’s for me, it always has been).
This is my favorite creative outlet, but I also see it as an opportunity to build something that will endure and reach millions of people. And You have the privilege of being here at the very start 🐣 (sort of).
This will be you in 30 years:

So what is 2UESDAY even about?
I’m glad you asked.
One fateful day, on the ~210-minute drive from Miami to Orlando to visit my family, as I listened to the sweet sounds of the World’s Greatest Boyband (RIP BROCKHAMPTON), I thought to myself, “I need to find a way to put my writing out there, but how?”
As I drove, the words from oombff swam laps in my head, “Write anything! Once you write, people will read. I know this. I believe. I believe in YOU.”
I knew I needed to write, but about what?
Well, whatever the fuck I feel like writing about at any given moment 🤠
And that could change from week2week!
So I had to make sure I didn’t pigeonhole myself into a theme or an expectation I wouldn’t be able to meet. I knew I needed something full of opportunity. Something that felt like you never really knew what was coming, but you were always excited for whatever it was.
And that’s when I remembered…

For a while (about 23 seconds), I pondered that idea 🤔💬
There’s some truth to it!
Monday feels like the worst. Either you’re having a case of the Mondays like Michael Bolton, or you’re excited to get your week started and dive headfirst into your tasks (in which case, you’re a Sociopath). There’s no in-between. That’s just the way it is.
Wednesday is Hump Day. It’s the day you look forward to because it tells you there are only two more days left in this meaningless pre-determined set of time we refer to as “The Workweek.”
Thursday is baby Friday. Friday JR. The actual first day of the weekend. Thirsty Thursday. Es focking Jueves cabrón, aka “It’s okay if I get drunk and have a hangover tomorrow because I only have to get through one day of work before I’m free because it’s Friday 🍻”
Friday is Friday. Few things compare to leaving the office on a Friday afternoon and blasting music on the way home as every neuron in your body is firing on all cylinders and you're overcome with the feeling that anything in the world is possible at this very moment because you worked hard all week to earn yourself two nights and two days of Freedom.
What’s not to love about Saturday? It’s your one day of actual peace and tranquility. You can stay out late the night before, sleep in, stay out late tonight, and sleep in tomorrow 💤
When it comes to Sunday…it’s a love/hate relationship. Sunday feels like this. (If you don’t want to watch that entire video clip I’ll just tell you it’s the scene in The Perfect Storm when they’re in the eye of the storm and all the weather and skies clear and the sun is shining and Mark Whalberg has this brief glimpse of hope, and he says, “Skip, we’re going to make it,” but George Clooney’s face never changes because he knows hope is meaningless (he’s Batman), and a few seconds after that storm clouds cover the sun and a massive wave flips their boat over and everyone dies and they lose one of the greatest fishing hauls Gloucester, Massachusetts had ever seen. That's what Sunday feels like, but at least we have football.)
That leaves us with the most inconspicuous day of the week: Tuesday
From this moment on, it shall forever be known as 2UESDAY.
(aka the day of the week formally known as Tuesday with a T)
It has been said, “Tuesday has no feel.”
I’ll agree to disagree
2UESDAY has a feel
It feels like something everyone has collectively decided to forget about.
Actually,
not even forget, because to forget means to initially acknowledge.
Except for food-themed alliterations, the occasional NBA Finals game, and a remix that only makes sense in the few US cities that party during the week, there’s not much going up on a Tuesday.
To me—
2UESDAY is a blank canvas 🎨
A dry-erase board that gets wiped down every week because no one cares to remember what happened 168 hours ago (there was probably nothing worth remembering anyway).
But I think it’s time we show 2UESDAY some love.
You signed up, you’re here, it’s time to strap in and get ready for liftoff as we launch 2️⃣UESDAYSEASON2️⃣ 🚀
What a glorious season it will be.
Because on a 2UESDAY

If you’re ready to make it your favorite day of the week, hop on board with me ⛵️
PS
This was just a warmup for tomorrow’s email. Making sure you’re all in the right headspace. I also made this playlist just for you. It’s a reflection of how I feel coming back to this thing that makes me so happy. Listen to it in your headphones, bump it obnoxiously loud in your open office plan with no regard to your co-workers, or blast it in your car with the windows down (that’s a fine in Florida, just FYI). Whatever you do, just don’t shuffle 😇
PPS
(Mom, just one "fuck" in the prologue email! I know you'd prefer zero, but it’s a good start 🤠 LOVEU🤍)
If you’ve discovered your love for 2UESDAY, show me it's real by getting someone to subscribe, and liking this (new) tweet.
