you bring so much light into this world—they say about me. you are the sunshine. they think it makes me feel like a star, and it does, but nobody thinks about what happens to a star. they forget stars are mortal. it doesn’t seem like that because they shine brighter and longer than anything else. but every star ends in a black hole. i feel my darkness growing when i say too much, when i get too comfortable, when i try something, and it doesn’t work so we start arguing. how did i turn us sad when we were just so happy? standing next to me, you can bask in the brightest light you’ve ever felt—but you better watch out. don’t let the light shine so bright you forget the dark is always lurking. they say—you’re such a star—you’re such a light, and they love to stand in the light. but they’re never around when the light goes out.
